About The Prince’s Countryside Fund

The Prince’s Countryside Fund is the brainchild of The Prince of Wales who has a long-held commitmentto supporting Britain’s hard pressed rural areas.

The Fund raises money from a wide range of businesses who have responded to The Prince’s call to action to improve the long-term viability of the British countryside and its rural communities.

This money is channelled into providing grants to projects large and small that deliver the three objectives of The Fund:Improving the sustainability of British farming and rural communities (targeting the areas of greatest need), reconnecting consumers with countryside issues; and supporting farming crisis charities through a dedicated emergency funding stream.

The intention is to inspire other businesses and the general public to get involved and recognise the importance ofthe countryside to the nation’swell-being and economy.

If you would like to support the work of the Fund please make a donation over the counter at any Post Office or text PCF to 70300 and a £3 donation will be made instantly.

“The countryside means
different things to all of us.
For some, it is a place of
beauty and tranquillity. For
many, it is a place to live
and work. But we can
surely all agree it is one
of the greatest treasures
of our nation. Through
my Countryside Fund I
have been trying to help
secure a sustainable future
for this crucial asset and
I am therefore delighted
that this competition will
seek to capture the
photograph that very best
represents it.”
