Advertorial Feature: Beaudesert Park School

Open Morning

Friday 16th March between 9.30am and 12 noon

A chance for prospective children and their families to see for themselves why Beaudesert is such a popular choice for girls and boys aged 3-13 – and why it has just received another glowing report from the ISI (the Independent Schools Inspectorate).

Older children will be taking visitors on tours, giving them a chance to see the school in action, to talk with current pupils, and if they wish, to meet and chat with staff including Headmaster, James Womersley.  Prospective children and their families are very welcome to come on a different day if that suits them better.

Glowing report

The popular independent school in the Cotswolds starts 2012 on a high note having received another glowing report from the ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate – the equivalent of Ofsted for independent schools).   Amongst other compliments, the report states; “The pupils’ overall achievement and their learning, attitudes and skills are excellent across all ages and abilities.”

New nursery in September

Praise from the inspection was also heaped on the Pre-prep Department whose work in line with the EYFS (the curriculum for children up to the age of 5) was found to be “outstanding”.   This is particularly timely as a nursery opens on site in September, for children aged 3 – 4.   Building work might not have started, but a number of families have already registered their children!

A country education

Catering for 360 girls and boys aged 3 – 13, the school enjoys a reputation for providing a fantastic education in a glorious setting.  Set in 30 acres (tree-climbing and den-making are actively encouraged!), Beaudesert has long been popular both with local families and those moving to Gloucestershire from further afield.  This academic year saw the highest number of children joining the Pre-prep Department for six years.

Headmaster, James Womersley expanded;  “We offer a rare combination of things many families want:  a happy, sizeable, country school with easy travel links to London and other cities, where children receive a great academic education, and where they’re also able to really enjoy being children.”

Family-friendly free after-school care and flexi-boarding

The school prides itself on being family-friendly, and offers free after-school care and “flexi-boarding” - a chance for older children to stay overnight at school with friends for just one, two or more nights a week.  For some families initiatives such as these have made the difference between employing a nanny and not.  Also popular are all the different after-school activities – from pottery to gardening, and judo to LegoTechnics, there’s a choice of 30!
