BREWERY BLUES: Friday, February 10, 7.45-11pm+

Brewery Blues at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester, is one of the best live music spots in the area and is drawing top quality performers from far and wide to play in the wonderfully intimate club-style venue in front of an appreciative audience of cross-genre music lovers. If you haven’t already experienced it for yourself then you’re in for a treat with the tremendous line-up on Friday, February 10…

Headliners are THE MATT WOOSEY BAND. Now resident in Holland, Matt is one of the most highly regarded young bluesmen on the European circuit – you’ll soon hear why. Matt’s edgy distinctive Delta-style blues voice and slap acoustic guitar technique are reminiscent of the late great Son House, Charlie Patton and Robert Johnson, as a listen to his latest album ‘All or Nothing’ will testify. The band’s line-up is complete with Adji Shuib on bass and James 'E' Williams on drums. They regularly performer at hot spots like Ronnie Scott’s in London and constantly featured on BBC Radio. Blues for grown-ups.

Returning to Brewery Blues are THE ABSTRACTS: New Wavesters from Cambridge. Quirky frontman Felix Morgan’s individual guitar sound and vocal delivery sits tantalisingly on the rhythm section of Ben Nunn’s bass and the drums of Mark Thomson. There are undeniable undertones of the Liberitines, the Futureheads, even Joy Division and Morrissey. Creative and entertaining, they are no slouches in the studio either with EPs ‘Calling out for Strangers’ and ‘Pound Stretcher’ to their credit.

Bristolian PETE TAYLOR has built a formidable reputation as an energetic contemporary acoustic player with his trademark melodic fretwork and haunting vocals. He was the Winner of BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Solo Folk Performer of the Year last year, it’s easy to hear why - his beautifully rendered original material is the product of a copious talent. Pete’s recent recording back catalogue includes ‘Faker, Faker’, ‘On its Own’, ‘Light Up a Life’ and ‘Warm Red’.

Young acoustic soloist MITCH POTTS highlights the ethos of Brewery Blues to provide youngsters in the area with a credible venue to showcase their abilities. This is Mitch’s third performance there and each time he just gets better and better. He’s yet another of the rich vein of Gloucestershire’s home-grown musical talent.
