Nationwide letter writing competition, The Write Stuff, took place in December 2011 with school catering company Chartwells and the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival.  Pupils were invited to celebrate the neglected art of letter writing and pen a piece about an aspect of food that inspires them.

With just 8 prizes to be awarded and Prue Leith and Professor Janet Beer on the judging panel, competition was fierce.  We are delighted to announce that Westonbirt pupils raised their game once again and secured three out of the eight prizes, with sixth former Miranda Gibbs impressing the judges with her writing skills and winning first place.  Miranda won a fabulous VIP trip to the O2 Arena, London, to watch the highly anticipated X Factor Tour!

Internally, Westonbirt’s Chartwells team picked their own winners and selected girls to enjoy a three-course meal in the Headmistress’s dining room, in recognition of their efforts and excellent writing skills.

Well done girls!

Westonbirt School’s Next Open Morning: Saturday, 12th May 2012, 09:30am – 12:30pm.
