Cath Kidston store is bigger and better

The world’s biggest branch of Cath Kidston is now in Cambridge thanks to a recent extension to the shop. There are mini rooms set up inside the vast retro lifestyle store, each with a different theme, complete with furniture and traditional British homewares. Be sure to check out the patchwork feature wallpaper and bobbin reel wall.

Family fun

Bored of board games and stuck for ideas on rainy days? Esdevium produce a wide variety of board games, old and new, that are fun for the whole family and a good way to lure kids away from the computer. Storytelling game Dixit for example, encourages creativity while Jungle Speed is a fast-paced card matching game that certainly brought out the competitive spirit in the Agenda Office as we all tried to grab the totem. Great fun.

Fancy pants

The craft trend continues with a new knicker-making kit from Flo-jo and you don’t need to be a seamstress to make your very own smalls. The packs come in sizes 8-18 and contain a pattern, ribbon, frilly elastic and cheeky fabric such as gypsy rose or cherry gingham. There’s even a ‘hand made by me’ label, so all you need are scissors, thread, sewing machine and a free afternoon.

Congratulations to Daisy Chain for winning Independent Gift Retailer of the Year for London, South and South East. The Histon shop carries a range of household accessories, scarves, jewellery, toiletries and children’s gifts.

Baby bag with street cred

Parents of small babies will know that lugging around a mountain of nappies, food and clothes every time you leave the house is far from stylish, but mums and dads won’t be embarrassed to be seen in public with Skip Hop’s new Bento bag. It is unisex and can be worn messenger style or attach to any pram using special clips. Available in muted shades complete with cooler bag and freezer pack, it’s cool in more ways than one.

No more hot dogs

Pamper your pooch with an Equafleece T-shirt designed to keep four-legged friends cool in hot weather. Made from breathable fabric that also helps protect against sunburn and allergens, the T-shirt can be soaked in water before being worn so body heat makes the water evaporate, cooling the dog down. Available in different designs, sizes and colours so there’s no excuse for your family friend not to look and feel cool this summer.
