Simon Callow at Bishop's Stortford literary festival

Words will be celebrated with style by a host of literary luminaries in Bishop’s Stortford in February.

The diverse line-up for Bishop’s Stortford College’s third annual week-long Festival of Literature, includes actors, comedians and novelists.

On Friday, February 3 stand-up comedian Robin Ince will kick start the festival while on February 4 actor and director Simon Callow will read reading excerpts from his new book Charles Dickens and The Great Theatre of the World.

February 6 will welcome globetrotting storyteller Cat Weatherill followed by comedy and verse by performance poet John Hegley

On February 7 it’s the turn of award-winning author-illustrator duo Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell followed by novelist Anne Fine. On February 8 discover the story behind debut novelist S J Watson’s rapid rise to global phenomenon with his thriller Before I Go To Sleep.

On February 9 hear young performance poet Luke Wright and on February 10 local author Pauline Francis will be presenting the 2012 Short Story Awards, before politician Shirley Williams shares stories from her autobiography, Climbing the Bookshelves.
