On Wednesday 25th January 2012 pupils from St Joseph’s School in Launceston welcomed Judy Pride and Lavinia Archer from Children’s Hospice South West to the school.

During the festive Christmas period at St Joseph’s the Early Years Department performed ‘The Little Angel’  and  the Junior School entertained a packed audience with their version of ‘Hoodwinked’, a witty take on Robin Hood. The children thoroughly enjoyed playing their roles in the productions.

Parents and Friends of the school kindly donated after the productions to the children’s chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West and raised an amazing £429.47.

A group of Year 5 and 6 pupils, led by the Charity Prefect, presented the cheque to Judy and Lavinia who thanked the children for their hard work.

The group have been invited to visit Little Harbour in St Austell – CHSW newest Children’s Hospice to see the new facilities which they have helped support. Little Harbour is a place of shelter and sanctuary for families coping with the most difficult of circumstance.

St Joseph’s School will continue to support CHSW. To find out more about the charity please visit www.chsw.org.uk
