The National Countryside Photography Competition in association with The Prince’s Countryside Fund and The National Countryside Week has just been launched!

Join us in our search for the photograph that best captures the beauty of the Great British Countryside by showing us your favourite photographs taken in one of ten regions.

Send us your photographs that depict the Great British Countryside, and you could win a new Olympus SZ-30MR Digital Camera and accessories worth over £300, along with the chance to have your photograph displayed at St James’s Palace. It’s an opportunity not to be missed!

This is a photographic competition that is open to everyone and all areas of photography.
The only specification is that your photograph must capture the Great British Countryside.

You may decide to photograph iconic British landscapes, the vast array of wildlife that resides in Great Britain, quaint rural areas, events orobjects.

Let your imagination run wild and upload your most spectacular photographs of the Great British Countryside today!
Entrants may upload a maximum of 3 images.

How the competition will work

The competition will be judged in ten regions across Great Britain, (the regions are listed below).

One winner will be picked from each of the ten regions, and each regional winner will win a new Olympus SZ-30MR Digital Camera.

The regional winners will then be invited to St James’s Palace, London to a Private Garden Party hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales on 6th July 2011.

Once at the Palace, the regional winners will have their photographs displayed and then judged by leading photographers and Trustees of the Prince’s Countryside Fund.

The Prince of Wales will announce the winning photograph at St James’s Palace.

The judging process

Once the competition has closed, Archant Life Magazine Editors will choose ten winning images from the ten regions

The 10 regional winners will then be invited to St James’ Palace and the overall winner will have their photograph crowned as ‘The Great British Countryside Photograph 2011’
