Turner Prize winner Grayson Perry opens collage exhibition at The Lightbox

Last night, leading artist and winner of the 2003 Turner Prize, Grayson Perry, officially opened the Art’s Council Collection’s touring exhibition Transmitter/Receiver: The Persistence of Collage at The Lightbox gallery and museum, Woking.  

The Lightbox is the only venue in the south east to host the exhibition which explores the use of collage in British art through pieces from the Art’s Council Collection.

Transmitter/Receiver includes works from renowned artists Ben Nicholson, Eduardo Paolozzi, Richard Hamilton, Patrick Caulfield, Chris Ofili and Grayson Perry. 

The official opening was also attended by a group of Young Curators from Woking College and other schools in the local area.

Talk: The Victorian Scrapbook

Join Robert Opie, founder of the ‘Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising’ as he paints a vivid picture of Victorian daily life using his scrapbook collection. The Robert Opie collection features over 12,000 original items and charts the changes in popular culture and lifestyle, entertainment, travel, toys and household articles. Tour of Transmitter/Receiver: The Persistence of Collage
