The arrival of the snowdrops is always a turning point for my photographic year.

Winter Snow

The stereotype images of Autumn, all have great impact, but I'm stuck thinking of alternatives that are as strong.

It's when the mists come that it starts to feel like Autumn for me.

Autumn Colours

The Attraction of Sunsets

September 4th 2011

Sunsets are often an attraction for photographers but while they certainly do catch the key there are a number of things that can take a simple red sky at night to a more compelling shot.

Fields of Gold

July 29th 2011

It's amazing how quickly the fields turn and if you catch them in nice warm light you get really get the fields of gold feel. It's one of the great attractions of the countryside at this time of year.

Council Gardens

July 4th 2011

This week I want to raise a cheer for the councils around the county and their gardeners who make those amazing municipal flower displays that appear each year. Sometimes on roundabouts or parks they bring a bright splash of colour that says 'summer'. In this case it's Dacorum council and particularly the Walled Garden in Gadebridge Park which is a awash in vibrant colours and shapes - a real summer treat.
