Preview evening at the new garden shop at Petersham Nurseries

May 18th 2012

Last week Rona Wheeldon and I went along to the preview evening at The Garden Shop at Petersham Nurseries. The Garden Shop is the new retail space that is designed exclusively for gardeners and is full of gorgeous plants and stylish garden accessories. We arrived a little early so that we had chance to take some photographs - a brilliant place to hone the skills we'd learned with Clive Nichols a week or so ago!

Delighted to reveal the design for English Garden Joinery's Chelsea Flower Show stand 2012

May 16th 2012

As you know, a few weeks ago, Rob Horton of English Garden Joinery asked me if I would like to design their RHS Chelsea Flower Show stand this year and it didn't really take me very long to give them an answer...well, a couple of seconds maybe!

My life as a Garden Designer - April highlights...

May 4th 2012

Well it's been a challenging month in the garden world with most of the water companies in the South East imposing hosepipe bans at the beginning of April but that's another story for another time and, fortunately, because my Sutton client had a drip-feed irrigation system installed, we were still able to plant up the garden.

My how to design your own garden workshop

May 3rd 2012

Last weekend I ran my second Design Your Own Garden workshop at MakeMe Workshops in the Medicine Garden in Cobham. This time I remembered to take my camera with me so I thought I'd share the pictures with you and tell you a bit about the workshop.

Concept Design for my project in France

April 30th 2012

The Concept Design for my project in France is now finished and I thought you'd be interested in seeing it. This project has been both challening and exciting. The house isn't there yet so it's been difficult at times to visualise how the garden will be viewed from the new house.

From the drawing board: My own front garden - finished!

April 19th 2012

I hope you've enjoyed following the construction of my front garden - we planted last weekend and I can now share the pictures of the finished garden. I keep forgetting it's done actually so every time I walk outside the front door it makes me smile! Gardens have the power to do that you see, they really do change the way you feel about your home.

Construction of my front garden days 6 & 7

April 15th 2012

I hope you've been enjoying the last few blog posts about the construction of my front garden. I wanted to share the last 2 days of construction with you because the transformation when the gravel went in was really quite dramatic.

Construction of my own front garden Days 2 & 3

April 6th 2012

On Wednesday I posted about the start of my front garden project. It's a relatively straightforward project but it's great to monitor the work on a daily basis - usually I visit site once every two weeks. Days 2 and 3 were predominantly focussed on the walls and excavation of soil to prepare for the sub-base which is being installed as I write.
