Photography and Media Arts students from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Maidstone are staging an exhibition of their work at The Mall, Maidstone.
Entitled Guerrilla: Maidstone the exhibition will run from 26 to 30 September and will be free and open to all.
A diverse range of works by 12 students and recent graduates will be on display. The photographs will explore a wide range of themes from exploring subcultures to blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
Alistair Farmer, a third year student involved in the exhibition, said: The exhibition gives the viewer an exceptional chance to experience a variety of styles and approaches to the photographic medium. It also challenges the status quo of display, and the generic white cube associated with gallery space.
Student Fleur Alston added: Maidstone has a strong cultural vein but more art is never a bad thing. The exhibition contains a wide variety of work which should appeal to many people.
UCA has a long tradition of displaying student work in its surrounding communities, and students are already planning follow ups to Guerrilla: Maidstone for later in the year.
