HOW I SPEND MY DAYS

Most days I like to get out early and take the dog for a walk in Roundhay Park. If I’ve got training – which I have five days a week - then I’ll head over to Headingley. Sometimes we’ll go to Otley where I love to go to the river and have a cold swim – I’ll do that as often as I can.

I’m also a real golf lover and I like to go for runs around the city along the canals. Not surprisingly sport and exercise play a very important part of my every day, but they’re all things that I love to do.

FRIDAY NIGHTS OUT - COCKTAIL OR CHILL?

A bit of both really. If I’ve been busy or had a lot of matches, then all I want to do is sit in front of the tv and watch something on the television, just to really chill out.

At the same time, we love a night out as well so you’re highly likely to find us at the Flying Pizza in Roundhay. It’s an absolute institution in Leeds and we love just to eat something delicious, washed down with a nice glass of red wine.

SATURDAY MORNING – PARK RUN OR PAPERS?

Not surprisingly, it’s always going to be a run for me! I love to run and I’ll do around 10k most weekends, along the trails and the backways around Roundhay Park which is close to where we live.

FEEDING TIME?

I’m not a good cook so we try to eat out as much as possible! If I’ve been training then we all love to pop into a little coffee shop called Fika North which does amazing coffee and cakes. I’m also a huge fan of House of Koko for coffee and brunch.

I love all kinds of Asian food – particularly Japanese so Issho in Victoria Gate is a real favourite. Anything fusion is good – Vietnamese, Thai – love it all.

However you can’t really beat some hearty Italian food, although I do try and make good choices when it comes to what I eat.

RETAIL THERAPY?

I do love to shop and I’m a regular visitor to the York Designer Outlet – I have to say I don’t often come away empty handed.

I definitely like to buy clothes, designer trainers and shoes – it’s hard to resist.

Luckily Leeds has got some great shopping and I love to have a wander round the city. I like high end high street such as H & M and Zara – you can always get some really nice stuff there.

SATURDAY NIGHT PERFECTION?

When it’s the cricket season Saturday night is just about relaxing, probably with a takeaway and watching a movie. Otherwise I like to go out with the other girls in the team, we might just sit in a beer garden and have a few drinks and chat.

We’re fans of Roxy’s Ballroom as well, where you can play all kinds of games from ping pong to shuffleboard so we like to go there whenever we can.

SUNDAY RELAXATION?

Sunday definitely starts with a lie-in! Now I’ve got my first ever pet – a King Charles Cavalier – the day tends to revolve around the dog! We go for a walk and even a swim in the river, then it’s back home for some food.

HOPES FOR THE YEAR AHEAD

There’s lots of ambitions for the year ahead. I’m an ambassador for Chance to Shine, a charity which promotes education and leadership skills to children. Aside from sport, female empowerment is my biggest passion and I want to continue to promote confidence and self-belief.

I’ll be playing in the English domestic games for Northern Diamonds this summer and of course we’ll be looking to beat the Aussies in the Ashes. I’ll be traveling to the USA in September for competitions and then to Australia in October to play, so it’s going to be a busy – and hopefully successful – year.
