'Tis the season to be jolly! The whole of Somerset will be full of festivities with plenty of charming Christmas markets, late night shopping opportunities and Christmas events. We bring you the festive happenings from all over the county
The Allerford & Selworthy Community Hall will be hosting a Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, December 7, 10am-4pm. Entry is free.
From Thursday November 28 to Sunday December 15, the centre of Bath will be transformed into a festive extravaganza with around 150 chalets lining the streets surrounding the Roman Baths and the stunning Bath Abbey.
The award-winning Christmas market will be packed full of gorgeous gifts, freshly baked foodie treats and warming mulled wine. The full schedule of entertainment will be announced soon.
Bristol's Harbourside Christmas Market is set to return this year, hoping to entertain and delight shoppers over five weekends in the run-up to Christmas. There'll be 50 of Bristol's independents to see as well as plenty of mulled wine, festive decorations and live music to enjoy. The market will be open from 11am-5pm on November 23 and 24 and December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 21 and 22.
The Christmas Lights switch on at Cabot Circus has yet to be announced.
Taking place from Friday, November 29 - Monday, December 23, the Bristol Local Christmas Market will open outside Marks & Spencer in Broadmead. For over ten years, the market has boasted an exciting and eclectic mix of local artists and craft makers and this year looks to be no different.
Made in Bristol's Gift Fair returns to the glittering foyer at Colston Hall on November 23, 24 and 30 and December 1, 7 and 8. On each weekend, the hall will be filled with a wide selection of local handmade gifts. Each of the family-friendly fairs offers an exciting opportunity to chat to the region's most skilled designer and understand the creative process, to shop local and find truly individual gifts.

Not quite a shopping opportunity but for fans of a dazzling Christmas light display, Trinity Close or "Britain's most festive street" gets better and brighter each year, and is definitely worth a visit. The illuminations have raised thousands of pounds for charity over the year.
The award-winning eat Festivals will come to Burnham-on-Sea on Saturday, December 7. Expect local food and drink producers in abundance, with plenty of festive themed goodies on sale.
Cheddar's fantastic Festive Night normally falls on the first Friday of December, meaning this year the event will fall on Friday, December 6.

Clevedon's Christmas Lights will be switched on Saturday, November 30, with entertainment from 2pm.
Enjoy the festivities at Clevedon's annual St Nicholas Fayre, taking place on Thursday, December 5, 4-9pm. Family and friends are warmly welcomed to the town's biggest annual market which boasts traditional market stalls, fairground stalls and seasonal entertainment. Shops along Hill Road and Alexander Road will also stay open until 9pm.
On Sunday December 1, the town of Dulverton will be lit by Christmas lights on the annual Dulverton by Starlight event. For one Sunday, all the shops will be open for local Christmas shopping, plenty of street entertainment and a dazzling firework display.
On Friday, December 6 (5-9pm) and Saturday, December 7 (4-9pm), the delightful medieval village will be lit by candlelight with a lantern procession and plenty of festive entertainment and family-friendly activities. This year there will be a Victorian theme and visitors are encouraged to dress up with a prize for the best costume. Local businesses and the village's wide variety of stalls will be open for late-night shopping.
Kick off the Christmas season with Frome's festive celebrations taking place on Friday, November 29. The event in the town centre features a lantern procession, carols and festive food stalls. The town's lights will be switched on at 6.45pm.
The much-loved Christmas Extravaganza market will return to the Cheese and Grain from 5-9pm on the same date, with plenty of unique gifts to treat loved ones to. The next day, from 9.30am-3pm, they will also host a Christmas Charity Fair.
Visit Glastonbury on Saturday, November 30 for the town's annual Frost Fayre with lots for the whole family to enjoy. Dotted around the town's magnificent Christmas tree, adorned with lights, peruse plenty of stalls, pick up Christmas gifts at the late night shopping event and meet Father Christmas and his helper fairies and elves. The entertainment starts at 10am.
The date and details are yet to be announced for this year's Glastonbury Christmas Tree Festival.
The much loved Ilminster Christmas Victorian Evening returns on Friday, November 22.

All aboard! The West Somerset Railway have organised a number of Christmas Services during November and December, including Santa's Winter Wonderland which takes guests from Bishops Lydeard to Crowcombe, also known as 'Snowcombe', Station. The steam service includes hot drinks, mince pies and cookies, before plenty of festive, family-friendly attractions to enjoy at Snowcombe.
Porlock Village Hall will host the annual Exmoor Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 23 (12-6pm) and Sunday, November 24 (10am-4pm), with plenty of locally made items on sale.
On Saturday, November 30, the annual Christmas Late Night Shopping and Santa Dash will return for later opening hours, festival foodie treats and lively street entertainment. There'll be plenty of festive cheer from Friday, December 7 with the arrival of the Porlock Santa Festival. Created by local businesses, a selection of Santas will be on display for locals and visitors to vote for their favourite.
Details on Taunton's Christmas lights switch-on and town centre celebrations are yet to be announced.
Among the stunning surroundings of Hestercombe, discover over 60 stalls with unique handcrafted items, gorgeous gift ideas and delicious treats to try. On Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17, browse the Christmas market, enjoy the choir carol service and indulge in a creamy hot chocolate with all the trimmings. The finest West Country food and drink producers, and Father Christmas himself, will be visiting Taunton on Saturday, November 30 for eat: Taunton (with a festive theme). Over 80 food and drink producers, and top quality gifts, will be on sale in Taunton's town centre.
The Christmas Artisan Markets will return to Bishop's Palace from November 1-3, 10am-4pm for the fifth year running. The medieval rooms of the Palace will be filled with handmade and unique gifts on sale, including those from local small businesses in the South West. Companies including The Exploding Boxes Company, Two Dogs & Co and Nikki's Original Totes will be in attendance. Seasonal refreshments and musical performances can be enjoyed while you browse.
The popular eat Festival will return to Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday, December 15 for a festive themed food and drink extravaganza. Over 80 local food and drink producers will be in attendance, as well as Father Christmas, gifts on sale and family-friendly entertainment.
Wincanton's Christmas Fair returns to the racecourse on Tuesday, November 26.
