Here it is, the long debated shortlist of those who have impressed us the most this year
The Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards are all about recognising quality and innovation in the hospitality industry. And we also hope to introduce readers to as wide a range of businesses across the county as possible.
The judges, experts in their own areas of food, drink and hospitality and with a love of entertaining, have had as always, a difficult time reaching their decisions. But after months of deliberations and visits they have found contenders worthy of honours for their talent, innovation and commitment to their customers.
We'd like to thank too, the readers who took the time and trouble to nominate their favourite places to eat, drink and stay during their leisure time.There are some very determined people out there who are working tirelessly to maintain Yorkshire's reputation for the fine food and drink and hospitality. We want to champion their efforts and celebrate their successes with these awards that also acknowledge their continuing steely resolve in what are undoubtedly tricky times.
Our awards celebrations are at Rudding Park, one of Harrogate's leading hotels on Monday evening, September 17th when we will announce the winners. The celebratory dinner is prepared once more by Rudding's development chef Matthew Wilkinson and his team who are finalising the menu created especially for our guests. There is no shortlist for Chef of the Year, Food Hero of the Year or for the Customer Service Award. These names will also be revealed at our celebration dinner. And of course there will be full coverage of the event in the November issue of Yorkshire Life as well as online including our website foodawards.yorkshirelife.co.uk
We hope the food and drink and hospitality industries are encouraged by our celebrations and know that we do support them through good times and bad. I would like to say thank you to our team of judges whose expertise is second to none. We hope to continue to inform, entertain and inspire our readers with events such as our food and drink awards. u
