Cullenders Deli & Kitchen, Reigate

Surrey Life's 2016 Independent Food and Drink Retailer of the Year, Cullenders offers a friendly welcome for breakfast, lunch and even, occasionally, a pop-up supper club dinner. Their coffee is great and you can pick up some deli goodies while there.

Hemingways, Haslemere

Far more than a mere coffee house, Hemingways is a one-stop-shop of entertainment - some refer to it as "Jekyll & Hyde" because they also serve a fantastic range of wines, ciders and beers. Enjoy a slice of homemade cake with your coffee.

Kalm Kitchen, Guildford

There's some seriously good food going on at Kalm Kitchen these days - and they also happen to run a highly-rated catering business from Puttenham. Their café is still an excellent spot for coffee and cake though, even with their broad horizons. Impressive stuff.

Krema Coffee House, Farnham

With riverside walks and Farnham Maltings only a coffee bean flick away, it's all about location, location, location with Krema, a popular independent coffee shop on Downing Street serving a range of their own home-roasted coffee.

Nest Home & Café, Ripley

Ripley villagers are rather spoilt, as these next two entries will attest to. First up, Nest draws people from far and wide as a "lifestyle destination with a difference." Whether looking to enjoy a superb Italian coffee or a browse of their antiques, tableware, home accessories and gifts from around the world, it's a must-visit.

Pinnock's Coffee House, Ripley

Pinnock's is Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards royalty, as they were the first to win a category twice in consecutive years - Tea/Coffee Shop of the Year in 2013 and 2014. They haven't lost their touch either and it remains a beautiful little place for a little caffeinated escapism.

Surrey Hills Coffee, Guildford

The story of Surrey Hills Coffee starts in Sweden. Having run a coffee business there for almost 12 years, owners Chris and Monika moved into the British market and eventually found themselves in Forest Green near Dorking. Their next step was to launch their popular Guildford café - where you can buy their coffee creations to take away as well as drink in.
