Hand-picked excellence – the culinary heart of the good lifeThe Hampshire Life Food and Drink Awards aim to nurture and promote excellence in the food culture of our region, and that’s exactly why Colten Care is delighted to sponsor the awards for the second successive year.Exceptional food is central to the high quality of life we offer within our family of 19 care homes. It’s quality assured by three fundamental “hand-picked” principles: all catering staff are fully trained and dedicated professionals; they prepare meals using home-made recipes with menus developed to meet the preferences of the different residents in their individual home; last but not least all ingredients are carefully chosen from a selected group of local suppliers for quality and taste.Our catering teams talk constantly to residents and to each other, exchanging ideas and expertise to explore new ideas and possibilities; after all, food tends to set the rhythm of the day for all of us, at every age. We work closely with residents, their families and local suppliers to keep our menus as fresh and appealing from day to day as the ingredients within them.Sponsoring the awards means more than putting our name to it: we want to spread its spirit too. That’s why we’re inviting our community of staff, residents and their families to put forward their ideas for the best home recipes, and tell us what those recipes mean to them. You’ll be seeing the winning recipes and their stories in the magazine soon.
