Approximately 18,500 made the May Eat: Burnham-on-Sea food and drink festival a wonderful celebration of local food and drink in the sunshine. The festival will return to Burnham-on-Sea on October 22 for visitors to enjoy lots of tasty foodie treats and entertainment

On Saturday 22 October the doors open at 9am for the 9th award winning Eat: Burnham-on-Sea food and drink festival. There will be over 110 traders offering many cuisines: everything from Thai, Japanese, Indian dosa, Caribbean jerk chicken, American BBQ and Italian stone-baked pizzas.

Expect plenty of local produce from Somerset bacon rolls, pies, cheeses, bread, award winning butchers, top class veg, chocolates and preserves. There will also be juices, beers, wines, ciders, cakes, fresh fish, patisseries and some food inspired craft & kitchenalia to treat yourself to.

The festival team even cater for four-legged friends with dog-friendly venues and a dog treat stall right outside the vets on College Street).

The team behind the festival told us: “We are really pleased to have expanded the range of entertainment for our younger visitors, in addition to the giant tractors, we have cute sheep, rides & games, a magician, an ace face painter and plenty of seating for you to take the weight off your feet and listen to the buskers.”

The festival takes place in 5 indoor venues and three street markets all in the northern end of the town centre on College Street, High Street, Victoria Street and Princess Street. So it makes for a great, free day our whatever the weather!

The festival is free to attend and the free to enter Great Burnham Bake Off, Brew Off and best in Show competitions return too.

The KDS Fresh Ideas Stage is open from 1100 with 5-sets of demo chefs on stage all cooking up storm and a full day of free workshops in The Cookery School.
