There are not many places we haven’t heard of when it comes to food and drink outlets in our local area, but hidden away on the edge of the Hamble in Universal Marina, Bistro 8 has managed to slip under our radar.
That is, until we recently paid a visit to experience the sailing community’s best kept secret. A unique, quirky restaurant come deli serving up rustic pizzas and sandwiches alongside a la carte dining, Bistro 8 is the perfect place for an early evening supper with friends. Watch the sun go down with a long drink in the newly refurbished dining terrace complete with cosy sofas around a giant brazier, and watering holes and houses for your sea dogs, before heading inside to enjoy hearty dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients. There’s a rather wonderful private dining room for special occasions too, with great views over the marina. A lovely venue for summer dining!
