The Fishpool Inn, Delamere

After a dramatic 12 month multi-million pound refurbishment, we were delighted to see the Fishpool open earlier last year. The interior is wonderfully designed, with features such as an upturned boat hanging from the centre of the restaurant. The food is fabulous and the staff are always welcoming. It’s worth booking before you go though.

La Popote, Marton

We went here to celebrate a friends 40th and it was a beautiful little place. It is a family-owned French bistro situated in a lovely renovated farm. The food is delightful and carefully presented and the owners Victor and Lynne are extremely welcoming.

The French at the Midland, Manchester

The French is a wonderful place to eat if you enjoy trying exciting and inventive dishes. Simon Rogan came on board early in 2013 and has restored the restaurant to its former opulence. As one of the first British restaurants to be awarded a Michelin Star, it is a place I would highly recommend.

The Goshawk, Mouldsworth

Living in Delamere, we often hop on the train to Mouldsworth and dine at The Goshawk. It is such a friendly pub, and it’s lovely to visit all year round. The seared scallops and chorizo are my usual along with the healthy wine list! It can get busy, so it’s worth booking if you go at the weekend (very easy to book online).

Sophie’s Steakhouse, Fulham Road, London

I lived in London for about six years and lived round the corner from Sophie’s Steakhouse. I must have gone there at least twice a month as it was fabulous. It has a great buzzing atmosphere and the food is lovely, especially the crab salad starter. It’s an extremely popular place and you often bump into many a celebrity there. I used to see Dannii Minogue and Orlando Bloom quite frequently.
