It was grit and determination from proprietor Janet Simpson that has made the Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant the place it is today. After being told, aged 14, that she would 'never achieve anything in life' she decided she would never be put down again. And in 1982 she opened up the beautiful hotel and restaurant that has gone from success to success.

The Gibbon Bridge, loved by celebrities like Coronation Street's Jane Danson, continues to offer dining at its best in its stylish restaurant and conservatory that boast views of its award winning gardens and the Longridge Fells.

You can pick from the a la carte, midweek lunch or weekend lunch menus or, for a taste of something special, bespoke menus can be created. Lunch is from 12pm to 1.30pm and dinner from 7pm to 9pm for non-residents. On Sundays, dinner is served from 6pm.

Dishes are cooked with local fresh produce and vegetables, fruit and herbs picked daily from the hotel's own kitchen garden. Whether you like the atmosphere of a busy restaurant, something a little more private, eating by candlelight or al fresco dining, the Gibbon Bridge can offer it all.

Its newest dining style is outdoors. From this month you can choose to dine in one of three thatched pergolas in a newly created garden area for informal lunches and dinners or on the new covered patio at the end of the restaurant. The pergolas can seat six to twelve diners and are ideal for more relaxed eating whether it is business or pleasure.

Janet will also personally cook for private parties offering an extra special touch to your evening. If you prefer something more secluded, the Gibbon Bridge can offer it in their elegantly designed rooms including The Cavalier Lounge, The Garden Lounge of the Conservatory.
