Taywell's raspberry sorbet makes it to the top

Kent ice cream company scoops award

Kent ice cream specialist Taywell has scooped the coveted ‘Q’ Award for the Local Producer category ‘Frozen’ section in the annual Quality Food Awards.

The Paddock Wood company only entered two products and its Raspberry Sorbet was chosen as the winner. This product was the first to win a Great Taste Award in 2007 and is one of the top 10 best-selling products. Made from Kent raspberries, they are supplied by Clock House Farm, Coxheath and supplemented by Taywell’s own raspberries grown in Sissinghurst.

Despite the recession, Taywell reports that sales have grown 65 per cent this last financial year and employee numbers have doubled.
