Famous for its fully-loaded sweet bakes, Pleesecakes has launched a savoury cheesecake topped with sausages wrapped in bacon
What’s your favourite festive snack or Christmas dinner side dish? Pigs in Blankets surely come high on the list but would you put them on top of a cheesecake?
Joe Moruzzi, the owner of Redhill-based cheesecake company Pleesecake certainly would and has done so for his most controversial cake to date.
With a celebrity following including Peter Andre, Joe Wicks and even the Queen, Joe’s customised cake creations are at the top of the wish list for anyone looking for an instagram-worthy centrepiece for a celebration
Continually pushing dessert boundaries with flaboyant style, Pleesecakes recently launched its Christmas collection which includes The Notorious P.I.B - a cheesecake topped with these salty morsels.
The cake, which serves ten to 12 people and costs £38, comprises a cheddar cheese, oatmeal and thyme base with a savoury cheesecake filling containing fresh thyme and sage, topped with a sweet caramelised onion chutney, a generous portion of crispy pigs in blankets and fresh sprigs of thyme and rosemary.
Sure to be the talking point among guests at your Christmas table, the cake makes a great alternative to the standard post-dinner cheeseboard but if that doesn’t quite whet your appetite then the collection includes two other quirky creations.
