Young Ilminster butcher is runner up in prestigious London awards ceremony.
Mathew Dyer from Bonners the Butchers in Ilminster Somerset has just become runner up in the Young Butcher of the year 2010, at a Gala dinner held in London this November. Against stiff competition, Mathew was nominated into the last three young butchers in the United Kingdom. Infact, you could say he was the best young Butcher in England, as the other two finalists came from North of the border.
After a rigorous judging Mathew more than earnt his right to be whittled down to the last three entrants to attend the prestigious dinner held at the Sheraton Hotel Park Lane in London.
Clinton Bonner of Bonners of Ilminster said” Mathew started with us a Saturday boy and has developed into a indispensable member of our team. His all-round knowledge is impressive but even more so is his work commitment and his customer service skills. He now comes out with me to see farmers and with his families farming background is getting a good eye for judging livestock. This recent win has only gone to support what I already knew.”
