This month Spanish TV chef Omar Allibhoy is bringing a taste of Spain to Tapas Revolution Bluewater with a new ‘Gin Tonics’ menu made entirely with Spanish Gins.

Unlikely as it may sound, the Spanish are now Europe’s biggest consumers of gin, with ‘Gin Tonics’ (as they are known in Spain) fast overtaking Sangria as Spain’s leading night-time bar drink.

Omar Allibhoy is continuing his mission to bring the lively tapas bars of Madrid to the UK with the introduction of three carefully chosen Spanish ‘Gin Tonics’ to the menu at Tapas Revolution, Bluewater, priced at £8.50.

From Catalonia to Galicia, the new additions to the drinks menu, all served in the traditional Spanish balloon glass, include some of Spain’s most popular gins: Gin Mare, an unusual and savoury Mediterranean blend from just outside Barcelona, will be served with Fevertree Mediterranean Tonic and garnished with basil & rosemary to bring out the herbal notes of the gin; The South Western tip of Galicia is represented by the vibrant and summery Ginabelle Plum Gin, infused with redberry tea and paired with Fevertree Indian tonic and summer fruits; Inspired by the fresh Atlantic wind that sweeps Spain’s Northern coast, the intriguing Nordes gin, with hints of liquorice and hibiscus, will be combined with Fevertree Mediterranean tonic, mint and ginger.

Following the launch of the critically-acclaimed Tapas Revolution Westfield (Shepherd’s Bush) in 2010, Omar has continued his mission to bring the joy of Spanish food to the UK with Tapas Revolution Bluewater, Tapas Revolution Shoreditch and Tapas Revolution Birmingham (Grand Central). 2016 will see the opening of Tapas Revolution Sheffield (Meadowhall) and Tapas Revolution Newcastle (INTU Eldon Square).
