Nick Davies, owner of The Cottage in the Wood said: “For the past 100 years, The Cottage in the Wood has extended warm hospitality to the local community and guests from far and wide. We can’t wait to host centenarians from across the country to our hotel and restaurant to commemorate our 100th birthdays together in style.”

The Cottage in the Wood was part of the Blackmore Park Estate until it was sold out of the family in May 1919. Since then, The Cottage in the Wood has welcomed an array of esteemed visitors during its history, including renowned composer Edward Elgar in the 1920s, former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Charlie Watts from the Rolling Stones. The refurbished interiors showcase the property’s Georgian heritage in a contemporary light with beautiful design that will simply delight anyone.

Throughout 2019, the hotel will also be holding a programme of engaging events to mark its centenary, including a hat workshop with Cotswold milliner, Lisa Von Hallwyl and talks with leading authors including Lucy Diamond.
