What is Burns Night?
Burns Night is held in honour of Scotland’s most famous poet, or bard, Robert Burns. On the Bard’s birthday, 25th January, his life is celebrated with whisky, traditional Scottish supper and recitals of his famous poetry.
Who is Robert Burns?
Robert Burns wrote more than 550 well-known poems and songs during the 18th century, including Auld Lang Syne. His poems and songs were mainly about political and social issues making him an icon for Liberalism and Socialism.

The Queens Arms, Corton Denham
A beautiful Georgian Inn set on gently rolling landscapes in the Somerset hills. On the 24th January The Queens Arms is offering all you foodies a mouth-watering Burns Night menu to celebrate the life of the infamous Scottish bard.
Located just a few minutes away from Bath centre, the Grade II listed hotel is set within 20 acres of private grounds with commanding views over Bath and surrounding countryside. Burns Night celebrations will take place on the 22nd January with champagne and canapés on arrival, and a five-course feast followed by whisky tasting.
