The saunas are typically created in wood, from palest aspen to the exclusive 100-year-old dead-standing pine, giving you a choice of sleek or rustic. The steam rooms are lined in shimmering iridescent glass or matt mosaic tiles and there’s even a steam shower dripping with 24-carat gold leaf tiles.
The newly installed luxury ‘Oasis’, which is reached through an authentic Moroccan doorway. Here you’ll find probably the most glamorous steam room, Fiore Rosa, with its floral mosaic walls, Corian benches and twinkling fibre-optic ceiling lights. There’s also the classical opulence of the Bella steam room with its polished plaster walls and marble benches, and the Globen ice room with its curved walls and benches encased in gold and green glass mosaic tiles.
Gadgets are, of course, high on the agenda so as well as the more obvious things, such as discreet vessels to hold your aromatherapy oils, for an even more unique experience there are atomisers to surround you in a soft mist, body jets for stimulation and foam jets for ultimate cleansing.
