Jane Lowe has been interested in horticulture since childhood and fondly remembers helping her grandfather, who was involed in the local horticultural society in Tibshelf, create floral displays. After working as a teacher for 25 years, Jane decided to pursue her love of flower arranging and attended a floristry course at Broomfield College. She now runs her own bespoke floristry business - Astrantia Floral Design - with the help of Carol Harris, and is also a long-time member of Allestree Flower group, one of the county’s last remaining floral societies.

Allestree Flower Group meets at the Evergreen Hall on the third Tuesday of every month. Anyone interested in joining should contact Lesley Bird on 01283 702601. Jane Lowe can be contacted via jane@astrantia.orangehome.co.uk
