When the apartments in Neptune Square on Ipswich Waterfront first came up for grabs, Eden and Michael Cox jumped at the chance to buy their daughter a flat to live in while studying.

But, now that she has completed her two degrees, the couple thought it was time to inject a bit of life into the space and sell it on.

They enlisted the help of local interior designer Lanassir Lawes of Swank Interiors to help revamp the apartment into a modern, bright and open space which would attract potential buyers. And, the results speak for themselves.

Minor structural changes have been made, including removing the door to the lounge and knocking through part of the wall in the kitchen to create a more open plan space. This has helped infuse the property with light, and means that keen cooks can still enjoy the waterfront outlook while preparing tasty treats.

With the apartment’s colour schemes and furnishings, Lanassir says she was guided by the apartment’s location.

“I wanted to make sure it reflected the marina,” she explained. “That’s why we’ve gone for the stripes and the blues in the master bedroom, for example.”

In the hallway, low level lights hint at life on deck and the shape of the sofas are reminiscent of the shape of a sail.

All the wallpapers featured across the flat are striking and include a lively Parris Wakefield design and a bold orange pattern.

In the main bathroom, Lanassir has used split-faced slate tiles, waterfall taps, sail-shaped towel heaters and more low level lighting to create a really stunning room.

“I think this room is really important because the type of person that will buy this apartment will probably want to entertain,” she said. “You want a room where people will say ‘wow, look at that’.”

Michael and Eden are planning to sell the apartment in the near future, so if you’re interested keep your eyes peeled on the property market.
