The Old Forge at Ringmer is a local landmark which is held in great affection by residents. It is fondly remembered as the village forge and blacksmith’s shop.
In the early 1990’s it became a pine shop and in January 2012 I took over the ownership from my brother in law, following his retirement. I have followed in the footsteps of this established family run business, and continue to supply good quality country furniture, in pine, oak, beech and cedar. I employ a small team of local people and we pride ourselves in offering good old fashioned customer service in an easy, no hard sell atmosphere, we want to ensure we have customers for life.
Whether you are downsizing, up sizing, refurbishing, enhancing or just looking for a new look we can help. Our customers can find complete furniture collections, have bespoke pieces made or purchase those unique, one off items for every room from kitchen to bedroom.
Repeat custom makes up much of our business including generations from the same family who have come back over many years.

We are lucky to have a large and loyal client base that already knows about our exceptionally good service, and this summer we exhibited at country shows and have attracted new customers by offering competitive delivery rates for people who may live a little further away.
I have sourced some new and exciting suppliers and have partnered with Sussex based artisans and carpenters to ensure that our stock is distinctive and in many cases unique. Our bespoke furniture is a favourite as are the one off pieces. You never know what you will find in one of the three separate small show areas in the shop. We offer an endless choice of style and finish, be it painted (colour matched to Farrow & Ball), distressed/aged, rustic or traditional we should have something to suit most people’s tastes.
We make an effort to be as environmentally friendly as we can and much (sadly not all) of our stock is sourced from suppliers who use materials from FSC managed forests (FSC is an international organisation that promotes responsible use of the world’s forests) and some of our furniture is produced from reclaimed timber.
