Ripples designers predict - Consumers are driving the market towards products with longevity and high quality, combined with traditional workmanship and a mix of contemporary classic design with a sense of luxury.

Colours: Neutral is still strong but no longer in limestone or cream, a more sophisticated subtle palette of muted earthy tones in greys, grassy greens, aubergine and stone.

Style: Products remain predominantly minimal with soft and soothing lines, with natural materials remaining key.

Furniture: Modular remains the most popular choice which can be pieced together to create the exact look the client desires. We are however seeing a slight resurgence in bespoke floor standing pieces as a result of customers desire for quality workmanship mainly in red woods or muted tones.

Tiles: Part tiling is becoming a strong trend but thankfully not the 3/4 or 1/2 height tiling popular in the 80’s and early 90’s, instead simple splash backs are being combined with fully tiled feature walls with remaining walls painted in a complementary or statement colour.

Showering: A continued move towards showers for water conservation, we use shower enclosures in about 50% of our wetrooms, although we are starting to embrace the concept of fully tiled floors in this country, most people are not ready for fully open showers! Most popular combination being fixed rainshower head and separate handheld shower for cleaning.

Lighting: LED lighting remains strong for ambience and boutique styling, consider light “layers”- light from different sources which are controlled separately to create different effects.

Baths: Free standing baths remain strong contenders for that touch of luxury and relaxation.

Heating: The humble chrome towel ladder has become rather functional and basic with the wealth of designer radiators in amazing shapes and finishes from wood to glass. With clients opting for soft greys, creams, white and metallic finishes.

Underfloor heating is becoming more popular with the current trend towards large tiled areas, under floor heating is providing an efficient, silent, invisible and highly practical heating solution.
