MATCH of the Day pundit Mark Lawrenson was joined by a host of celebrity friends for a charity golf tournament in Southport. The 11th annual Celebrity Golf Classic at Hillside Golf Club, sponsored by Liverpool-based stockbrokers and investment management company Blankstone Sington, helped raise funds for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Among the famous faces hitting the greens were Liverpool and Everton FC legends Phil Neal, Graeme Sharp, Bruce Grobbelaar, Duncan McKenzie, Jason McAteer, Alan Kennedy, Don Hutchinson, Gary Gillespie, Ian Snodin and Mike Newell. The sporting celebrities were joined by golfing enthusiasts from across the region for the tournament, which culminated in a sportsman’s dinner in the clubhouse and auction of sporting memorabilia.Photography by Diane Thompson
