Overnight at lovely Leeds Castle

Often called the ‘loveliest castle in the world’, this is your chance to spend a romantic night in a luxurious bedroom at Leeds Castle. With a special Valentine’s Dine and Stay package on 11 February, you could treat your partner to a private tour around the castle, a glass of Champagne in the library and a candle-lit dinner served in the banqueting hall. Relax with coffee and chocolates after dinner then retire to your beautiful bedroom with views across the moat. There’s even a full English breakfast with Bucks Fizz the following morning.

Pamper yourselves at Eastwell Manor

A luxury spa retreat has to be the ultimate way to relax and indulge your senses. There are many venues to choose from across the county but one of our favourites is Eastwell Manor near Ashford. The manor has romantic character bedrooms, suites and mews cottages, along with a superb restaurant, golf course, swimming pool and an extensive spa with all sorts of treatments on offer. Book a spa break or order a gift voucher for the one you love.

Indulge in a boutique

There are several Kentish B&Bs so good they rival top hotels. We recommend The Reading Rooms in Margate, where each room has its own floor of the Georgian townhouse and a bathroom so indulgent you may have to pinch yourself, and Shepherd House in Faversham, with its contemporary design, lovely walled garden and breakfast-time Bellinis.

Go winter glamping

While many campsites and glamping businesses close for winter, there are still a few options if you fancy getting back to nature, escaping the rat race and cosying up in front of a log fire. Enjoy some privacy in the pretty Old Apple Shed in Bethersden, complete with its own en-suite bathroom, kitchen and nearby village pub, or revel in the landscape at Elmley National Nature Reserve on the Isle of Sheppey – where you can choose one of three shepherd’s huts or the Saltbox cabin with a glass wall and incredible views.

Anne Boleyn’s Castle

An overnight stay in a castle, with dinner, drinks and breakfast included, is about as romantic as it gets. Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, is offering a Valentine’s treat to remember on 11 February.

Enjoy a delicious dinner in the Guthrie Pavilion and stay in one of the rooms in the five-star Astor Wing. And no visit to this famous Kentish castle would be complete without an after-hours tour of the building and a walk in the beautiful gardens.

A little animal magic

For the animal lover in your life, book a unique stay at Port Lympne Reserve. With the choice of on-site accommodation at either the historic Port Lympne Mansion Hotel or in the trendy new Treehouse Hotel, there is an excellent restaurant and free entry into the park is included. Push the boat out further by booking a VIP safari or an animal encounter. For couples thinking of getting married, Port Lympne has recently scooped some top awards at the Kent Wedding Awards 2016.
