A carnival just days ago would be enough to put most towns off the idea of further festivities for at least four weeks - but then Bridgwater isn't just any town. Having hardly drawn breath following its magnificent illuminated carnival, the party continues with the town's Christmas celebrations. This year Bridgwater will be enjoying a new display of Christmas lights to enhance the Listed buildings of the historic town centre and provide a festive atmosphere in which to shop. Bridgwater has a fine selection of national and individual retailers offering a wide and varied selection of goods - ideal if you're looking for something different. And if the weather turns nasty there is always the covered Angel Place Shopping Centre. But one of this year's most exciting gift shopping opportunities can be found at Bridgwater Arts Centre, where an open exhibition will enable shoppers to purchase original works of art by local artists. This year's theme is Razzle Dazzle, so expect some pictorial fireworks!
