The four star Barcel Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf and Country Club raised an impressive 5,000 for the East Cheshire Hospice at their recent charity golf day and auction.

Around 100 of the hotel’s top clients and event booking agents attended the event and helped raise money during a charity auction where short breaks and holidays to Barcel hotels were sold.

General Manager at the Barcel Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf and Country Club, Jennifer Sibbald-Wall said: “The East Cheshire Hospice was chosen by our Golf Captain, David Durling, and it is a charity that has always been very close to our hearts. We are delighted that we were able to raise so much money for such a great cause and we would like to thank everyone who attended for their generosity and for making the day such a success.”

Guests at the event were split into teams for a golf tournament at the hotel’s 18-hole championship golf course, including a ‘Beat the CEO’ match with Charles Prew, before enjoying a delicious gala dinner in the hotel’s elegant Tilden suite.

The winning team was hosted by Wayne Topley, General Manager at the Barcel Hinckley Island Hotel and included the only female golfer, Jennifer Shaw. Each member of the winning team won a golf break to a Barcel Spanish golf resort. The team which came second won a city break to Madrid and the third won Wilson golf goodies.

Liz Reynolds, Community & Events Fundraiser for East Cheshire Hospice said “We are so grateful to the Barcel Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club for all their support. For the hospice to survive we need to fundraise 6000 every day and it is only through the generous support of our community that we are able to provide this vital service.”

The Barcel Shrigley Hall Hotel has also recently pledged to donate a percentage of takings to charity, from fundraising and charitable events held at the hotel as part of its new Barcel Moments banqueting brand.
