Eastbourne’s new eco-friendly garden centre, Hillier, celebrated its official launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a horticultural twist.Hillier welcomed Pevensey and Westham MP Gregory Barker, Polegate Town Mayor Cllr Tim Voyce and a host of other local dignitaries and gardening celebrities to toast the opening of its new �3million flagship store.Chairman Robert Hillier OBE, said: “Our new flagship garden centre brings an unrivalled horticultural destination to East Sussex. The redevelopment has enabled us to become more eco-friendly with rainwater harvesting for irrigation, low energy LED lighting, solar energy recovery and energy management systems, as well as exceeding all of the building regulations for insulation.”The centre is on the B2014 Hailsham Road, between Stone Cross and Pevensey.
