Exeter’s Princesshay will be home to several events to get you in the festive spirit.

Launching with a winter warmer promotion, which runs 6-13 November, Princesshay are giving away 1,000 gift cards containing £10 to spend in the shopping centre. To receive the treat shoppers simply need to spend £150 in three transactions between 4pm and 7pm.

Princesshay will also be hosting Exeter’s Christmas lights switch-on for the fourth year. The event will take place on Thursday, 20 November from 4-8pm.

The popular ceremony will see European Athletics Championship Gold medallist, Jo Pavey and popular actress, Caroline Quentin, together with members of the Exeter Chiefs rugby team, switch on the city centre’s Christmas lights at 6.30pm. They will be joined on stage by the Lord Mayor of Exeter and Father Christmas.

Visitors and shoppers in Princesshay will be treated to a festive programme of entertainment throughout the event. Former The Voice contestant Adam Isaac will take to the stage with his band, while X Factor 2013 finalist, Shelley Smith will close the show.

Also performing on stage are the Exeter University Jazz Orchestra and Exeter University Soul Choir.

Performances from Razzmatazz Theatre School, Wonder Production Pantomime and Pinhoe Pantomime cast will interact and keep the magic of Christmas alive throughout the night.

Compering the main event will be Heart Radio’s breakfast presenters. The Heart Angels will also be there greeting visitors and handing out free festive treats and giveaways.

The Christmas lights switch on event marks the start of late night shopping in the city.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director comments: “We always look forward to the Christmas season here in Princesshay and this year is no exception with a packed timetable of events and festive activities for shoppers to enjoy. With a mix of over 70 shops and restaurants including the newly opened Joules and Byron we think Princesshay is the perfect destination to shop, dine and socialise this Christmas.”

Friday, 21 November sees Princesshay’s Roman Walk twinkle with festive cheer with the Charity Christmas Tree Festival. The festival, now in its second year, provides local charities with the opportunity to decorate a Christmas tree to help raise both awareness and money.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter will official switch on the lights to the 30 Christmas trees at 5.30pm.
