Kent Community Foundation held its birthday dinner at Penshurst Place, home of Viscount De L’Isle, KCF’s new Patron and also the Lord Lieutenant of Kent.
Chairman Peter Hardy told guests how more than �15 million had been given out by the Foundation to local good causes over the last 10 years, and thanked donors for their fantastic generosity and passionate support in helping the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people across Kent and Medway.
Carol Lynch, Chief Executive, explained that KCF’s aim is not to take away donations from larger charities in the county but ‘to increase the size of the pie’, so that even the smaller, grassroots projects can be funded and make a real difference locally. A short film gave a snapshot of some of the many thousands of charitable groups which have been funded, and how important donors’ money is to them.
