Readers of Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life were treated to sunshine and stars from the sporting world at the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.

Visitors packed Calderstones Park to see some of our finest young players, established pros such as Martina Hingis and legend of the court, John McEnroe.

McEnroe beat his old doubles partner, Paul McNamee, in a legends final which lived up to expectations and paid tribute to the crowds who turned out to watch them.

Finance giant Tradition-ICAP was the main backer with Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life among the regional sponsors. Guests of the magazines enjoyed hospitality from catering company, Pickled Walnut.
