New creative writing class

A former Warwick Poet Laureate is launching a new creative writing class in Moreton-in-Marsh and is encouraging budding writers to sign up.

There are 14 spaces available in the class, which will be held on Thursdays, from April 18, 2013 (12.30-2.30pm) at the Tourist Information Centre, High Street in Moreton-in-Marsh. It costs £75 for a 10-week course.

Have you always wanted to write short stories? Do you have a passion for poetry? Would you like to pen articles or record your family history? Or perhaps you’ve got a half-finished novel under your bed?

If the answer to any of the above is ‘yes’ or ‘maybe’, then this course could be for you.

The class is lead by Helen Yendall, a published writer and former Warwick Poet Laureate, who previously taught the subject for four years in Solihull. The emphasis will be on fun, encouragement and, of course, putting pen to paper.

It’s open to anyone over 18, with any level of experience but is particularly aimed at those who are new to creative writing. In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you’ll learn techniques for writing fiction, non-fiction and poetry, as well as methods for editing, critiquing and generating those all-important ideas.

For more information or to book your place, please contact Helen Yendall. Email: helenyendall@yahoo.co.uk or call 07531030436.
