Rookery Hall near Nantwich was the elegant venue for a black tie ball in aid of the One in Eleven Appeal.
The aim of the campaign is to raise funds for the new neonatal intensive care unit at Leighton Hospital, Crewe, which will help sick babies in their first weeks of life. The appeal needs another �20,000 to achieve its target so organisers of this glamorous occasion were delighted that over �12,700 was raised.
Among the guests at the ball were parents of babies who have been cared for on the neonatal unit, plus doctors and nursing staff, friends and supporters of the charity.
One of the organisers, Ailsa Rowlands said: ‘Approximately 3,000 babies are born at Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust each year with one in eleven of those babies needing additional support – ranging from a few hours of special care to a few weeks in an intensive care unit.’
