Man’s best friend stole the limelight at Paws in the Park, the UK’s largest dog show of its kind for working, trained and pet dogs.

Taking place at The Hop Farm in Paddock Wood, the event (now in its sixth year) attracted more than 16,000 visitors and some 9,000 dogs across the weekend as families and canine lovers enjoyed everything from ‘dogstable’ courses, fun scurries and flyball to classes for cross breeds and a ‘My Dog’s Got Talent’ competition.

The K9 Aqua Zone with its Dash ‘n’ splash was a huge hit with dogs, handlers and spectators, as dogs sprinted along a 30ft ramp and dived as far as their little legs could carry them into a 40ft pool.

There were also exhibitions from trained police and gun dogs, SARDA Meridian Search and Rescue and the British Carriage Dog Society – and the unbeatable appeal of a ‘Hug a Husky’ stand.
