Your opportunity to enjoy the Francis Bacon and The Masters exhibition with the EDP Norfolk Magazine.

The extraordinary and striking work of Francis Bacon is teamed with some of the masterpieces from the great artists who inspired him in the new exhibition now in Norwich.

Francis Bacon and The Masters is at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, on the University of East Anglia campus until July 26, and brings together major pieces by a collection of the greatest painters and sculptors in the history of art. It is an exhibition not to be missed, especially here on our doorstep at the Sainsbury Centre (SCVA) which has a strong link with Francis Bacon - its founders, Robert and Lisa Sainsbury were early patrons of the artist.

Now, the EDP Norfolk magazine is partnering with the SCVA for a special private viewing of the Francis Bacon and The Masters exhibition for a limited number of our readers.

This special event will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at 4.45pm. It will begin with the chance to enjoy tea and cake in the centre’s inspiring surroundings before joining chief curator, Amanda Geitner from the SCVA for an exclusive talk and private viewing. Tickets are £20 per person.

As well as more than 30 of Bacon’s paintings, the exhibition brings together major works by old and modern masters including Velázquez, Rembrandt, Titian, Michelangelo, Rodin, Van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse. There will also be superb examples of antique Greek, Roman and Egyptian sculpture from the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, one of the world’s greatest museums.

The exhibition is sponsored by Christie’s and our sister newspaper the Eastern Daily Press is media partner.
