Once a derelict and almost forgotten Victorian walled garden, The Medicine Garden has been transformed in recent years for everyone one from avid foodies (two cafés plus the Blid & Hatton food studio) to those looking to explore yoga, pilates and even tai chi. It’s a perfect place to relax and recuperate. They are hosting a spring fayre on Bank Holiday Monday May 1. Tickets: entry is free.

Petersham Nurseries, Richmond

Priory Farm, South Nutfield
Home to Surrey Life’s 2016 Farm Shop of the Year, but also so much more. Though they’ve different owners these days, you’ll find an excellent garden centre and café, a family nature trail, a mountain boarding centre and that farm shop here. Tickets: prices vary

Sunbury Walled Garden, Sunbury-on-Thames
This historic walled garden was built in the early part of the 18th century. It’s home to Sunbury Embroidery Gallery and The Millennium Embroidery. There’s also a lovely café. Tickets: entry is free
