The East Devon seaside town of Seaton is looking forward to another exciting weekend of cycle races
Described as a gateway to the Jurassic Coast, Seaton in East Devon is best known for its beautiful scenery, walking routes, pebbled beach and selection of independent shops.
In July, the town is taken over by cycling enthusiasts from across the UK, and this year, the weekend is set to feature an even stronger line-up of competitors.
The successful Seaton Cycle Fest returns for its fourth year on Sunday 7 July. Race Day will see some of the best riders from the region and beyond taking part in a series of fast-paced criterium races covering a 1.2km circuit following the long, flat seafront as well as a sharp ascent and tricky technical descent.
For those looking to take part, the race categories include youth, juniors, men and women, throughout the day. For the first time in the competitions history, 2019's Cycle Fest will see the introduction of a veteran's race for racers over 40 years old.
Brandon Ellis, organiser of the Race Day says: "The Cycle Fest is back for its fourth year and will be even bigger and better for 2019. All the races will be judged by chip timing this year and we have added a race for riders over 40.
"The race continues to attract the cream of British Cycling. Past winners have included internationals Will Tidball and Lauren Dolan, local pro rider George Fowler, and last year our main race winner was Steve Lampier one of the most experienced professional riders on the UK circuit.
"We are also hoping to introduce a community event in conjunction with British Cycling, our sponsors and Seaton's local cycling club Axe Valley Pedallers."
The event is not just for cyclists as family and friends hoping to watch and support can also make a day out of it. Directly on the South West Coastal path, surrounded by sea and countryside, the seaside town of Seaton is the perfect place for spectators to make the most of one of the UK's most popular cycling races.

This hidden gem is exactly how it sounds, tucked away from the rest of the town, this unique café is a place to relax and the perfect spot for a cheering on break. Everything about The Hideaway, from the art hanging on the walls to the dishes being served, celebrates local talent.
Cake, sandwiches, scones, breakfast, you name it, Coast Café Bar will have it. This venue is a perfect place to watch the cyclists in action. Not only is the food and drink delicious, the café is on the sea front so you'll be able to enjoy direct views of the sea and the race.
An idyllic way to make the most of the seaside air, takeaway fish and chips from Frydays means you can head straight to the beach and cheer on cyclists whizzing past.
Previously a small cinema, The Old Picturehouse has been completely refurbished and is the perfect venue for a post-race beer. Not only will visitors enjoy its range of drinks and food, but the décor is stunning. Working with local craftsmen, the owners have restored many of the original interiors.
Aptly named, Pebbles Coffee House really is only a 'stone's throw' away from Seaton town seafront. It is a top spot to watch the race and cyclists fly past whilst enjoying a wide selection of homemade cakes and comforting savoury options.
Offering delicious vegetarian and vegan food and drinks with beautiful contemporary arts and crafts hung around on the walls, The Terrace Arts Café has a great atmosphere to watch the races. u
