Sandbach: a great place to live and shop

Sandbach is just one of the many Cheshire towns that thrive on independent businesses, from butchers and bistros, flower shops to boutiques, gentlemen’s outfitters to shoe shops, delis to tearooms, the indoor and outdoor markets, and the regular makers’ markets. It’s a great place to live for lots of reasons, with two well-respected high schools, a huge mixture of traditional and modern housing and every public facility from parks to the library, as well as the sporting clubs – rugby, cricket, football, gymnastics, crown green bowls... – that make this a real Cheshire community. Take a look here at how beautiful Sandbach is from the skies on a summer’s day, with this incredible footage from DKS Drones, a two-man business that is flying over the county, creating a wonderful archive.

DKS features in the September issue of Cheshire Life and the magazine also has an article on moving to Sandbach, highlighting its many assets.

You can also find out how to nominate your favorite Sandbach businesses – retail, tourism and hospitality, markets, bars, pubs, tea rooms, and coffee shops, and those that have stood out during the Covid-19 crisis by supporting their local community – for the Cheshire Life Keep Life Local awards. Here’s editor Joanne Goodwin visiting Sandbach to hand out magazines and campaign stickers and encourage the town traders to enter.

She said: “Walking around Sandbach is always a pleasure and whether I’m looking for a leg of lamb, a new dress or something for DIY, it never lets me down. And there are always plenty of places to eat and drink and service with a smile.

“Of course, there are lots of other Cheshire towns that have the same spirit and we are encouraging our readers to enter their favourite businesses for our awards so we can ger Cheshire back where it belongs.”
