Sibford Art Exhibition: March 16-17

Arts and crafts alive!

Plans are in full swing for the 17th Sibford Art Exhibition, hosted at the village’s primary school. Alison Bell (member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors) will curate the event, with an eye to showing the best that the region’s artists have to offer.

The exhibition runs on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, 17, with an invitation-only preview evening on Friday, 15 from 7.30pm. Exhibitors will include returning favourites such as printmaker Ben Pritchard and watercolourist Richard Lingard, and newcomers such as the figurative painter Neil Moore and ceramicists Sally and Neil MacDonell. From oils and bronze to fused glass and woodcuts, there will be 200 original works for sale, and there will be artists demonstrating their craft on both days.

There’s also a chance for children to show their artistic side with a children’s make and do area. The school children have entered an art competition and will have their work hanging for everyone to admire.

To complete the event, there’s an extensive range of quality craft stalls to browse round, including jewellery, ceramics and home goodies.
