A regimental dinner to honour St Barbara, patron saint of artillerymen, was staged by the Royal Artillery Officers’ Association and The Lancashire Artillery Volunteers (103 Regiment RA) at the Brigadier Philip Toosey Territorial Army Centre, Aigburth, Liverpool.

Lieutenant General Sir Edmund Burton presided. The principal guests were Major General Richard Nugee, director general personnel, who proposed the traditional toast ‘Saint Barbara and the Royal Regiment’, Colonel Dame Lorna Muirhead, the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, and Mr David Briggs, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire. The programme of music was provided by The Band of the Lancashire Artillery Volunteers, directed by WO 1 (Bandmaster) Ian Mitchell.
