For nine days at the end of October last year Crich Tramway Museum was transformed into a magical, spooky place for a series of Starlight Specials

Various strange creatures could be seen around the site and a number of trams ran throughout the day, including open-top trams making the most of the unexpectedly mild weather. But it was once night fell that the event really came to life. Vintage open-top Blackpool trams were decorated with lights and many of the buildings and trees illuminated with different coloured lights – cleverly arranged by students from Derby University.

Other attractions included vintage vehicles, birds of prey, dancers and a Dr Who lookalike, as well as a Dalek and a Cyberman.

A fitting end to the 2014 season at Crich Tramway Museum, 50 years after the society was formed, now it’s full steam ahead for 2015 with a re-opening planned for 28th March.
